Gabe at MeeMaws learning how to Kayak

Gabe had a great time at MeeMaws. He had the chance to learn how to Kayak and it looks like he had fun and got the hang of it. He can do anything if he just puts his mind to it.

Just a note

Well another birthday has come and gone. I was a little sad yesterday since Charley and Gabe were not there to share the day with. As for Alex, he was more interested in playing with the boys, torturing the kitten, and climbing under the back deck. I was able to catch up on some movies that I know Charley would never watch. Not enough blood and guts to keep him interested. Charley and Gabe will be back from Virginia on Wed. so I will be posting pictures shortly after that.

School starts back up next week. Gabe starts 2nd grade on the 25th and Alex will be starting Kindergarten the week after. Alex has to go in for an interview on the 23rd to see where he fits in with the rest of the kids in the class. He has learned quite a bit over the summer at the daycare.

They are growing up so fast. Where does the time go? When they were babies you want them to grow up faster and now I want them to slow down.

Well that's it for now.

Zermott Resort in Midway Utah

Charley treated the family to a night in a great resort. It is only 40 minutes away but it felt like we were manyhours away. It was like we were in a resort in the Alps. We had a lot of fun in the pool and wlaking around the beautiful grounds. On our way home we stopped at one of my favorite places - Bridal Viel Falls.

Downata Hot Springs - Idaho

We had a fantastic time with some great friends in Idaho. The pool at Downata was a cool 90 degrees. It was a little to warm for me. We enjoyed staying in the Teepee. We were even OK with sharing it with the Voles until they ate a hole in my bag and found our bread. We also spent an afternoon in Hot Springs Idaho. Next time we will have to do the river rafting. It looked like a lot of fun. The boys enjoyed themselves and so did we.

Getting ready for the HOT Summer

Hi everyone,
Well here comes another summer. We are hoping to do a lot of camping and some other fun adventures. I will keep you all posted. We have settled into the new house and neighborhood just fine. The boys are enjoying the new friends they have made. Charley is doing fine and is in the process of taking on new responsibilities at work. It is about time someone appreciated all that he is able to do and what an asset he is to the company. I survived the latest layoffs that took place two weeks ago. I am also moving in a new direction which I am very excited about but also a little scared. I am going to be involved with all of the pre-clinical studies that we do. These are the studies before it is introduced to humans. There is a lot to learn but I am ready for the challenge. Well that is all for now. Just thought I would write a little note.

Baseball is over for the season. Gabes team came in first place. Alex did not play any of his games. He said he did not like to play in the dirt. I thought all boys liked to play in the dirt. Oh well. Maybe next year.

Kick off to Summer

Our first camping trip of the year. We endured strong winds and sand in places sand should not be. I am still getting sand out of my ears. The winds finally calmed down after we get the tent up. That was a site. The next day was great. The boys got to drive the ATV's all by themselves and did very well. If we had let him, Gabe would stayed on it for hours. We had a great time.

Halo around Sun

A circular halo, often referred to as just a halo, is formed by the refraction of sunlight through cloud suspended ice crystals as opposed to raindrops or other liquid water suspended in the air. Sometimes only arc sections are visible as opposed to a full circle. Brighter sections can occur above, below, and lateral to the center (where the sun is visible). The lateral bright areas are referred to as "sun dogs," "parhelia" (plural), or mock suns because of their bright appearance and possible confusion with the actual location of the sun. The ones above and below the sun are the upper and lower tangent arcs, respectively. A 22 degree halo has red on the inside and blue on the outside.

These pictures were taken today. So neat.

We had a great time bowling with the boys. What a great way to spend time together. The boys really had fun and did well. We had to take them somehwere to wear off all of the candy.

Mee Maw is coming

We are all very excited to see Mee Maw next week. The boys have not stopped talking about it. Hopefully we won't have any more snow. We are sad that Grandpa Tommy is staying back. We all miss him.

Baseball

Gabe tried out for an advanced baseball league and made it. His team is "The Phillies". This league is team pitch and is for 7 and 8 yr olds. We are so proud of him. He had his first practice Saturday morning for an hour and a half on the frosty field. He did so well and was actually paying attention to the 4 coaches. I can't beleive that a Pee Wee league has 4 coaches for 11 kids. At least the kids will get needed one on one training.

Alex will start soon too. He is very excited to get to play. He keeps talking about playing football but he willhave to wait until he is 8.

We are looking forward to the games.

Happy Valentines

The family.

We were a strange little band of characters
trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste,
coveting one another's desserts,
hiding shampoo, borrowing money,
locking each other out of our rooms,
inflicting pain and kissing to heal it
in the same instant, loving, laughing,
defending, and trying to figure out
the common thread that bound us all together.

~Erma Bmbeck

I love each of you and so happy to have you in our life.

Goofy Charley

I just had to post this. Gotta love the look. Gabe took this picture.

Christmas 2009

Hello all,

We had a quite X-mas at home this year. Well as quite as two excited boys can have. We were woken up at 5:15 am by two impatient little ones wanting to go downstairs and see what Santa left for them. We were able to hold them off until 6:30. They were very excited about all of there gifts. That evening we had dinner with some great friends and called it an early night. Here are some pictures. More to come later once I find the right code for the camera.

Snow piled up on sides of driveway.

Flying their Air Hogs. Not doing so well with the wind byt they had fun.

I love when the trees get covered in snow. They are so beautiful.

Here are Gabe and Alex in the PJ's that Tata Caroline got them.

I will post more soon.

We love you all.

Gabe and Alex Birthday Party 2009

Hi all,

Well another year has passed and the boys are a year older. You would think they calm down as they get older but that doesn't seem to be happening. We spend a couple of hours at the local pool which has a great indoor pool area and is not really expensive. Then we packed them back up and headed home for some cake and ice cream. We had a great day. Here are some pictures.
